This is the final part in this series about mental health apps, and here I bring up some apps for self improvement. It’s a pretty vague subject, which is why I have chosen to introduce a few different sorts of apps. One is specifically for just self improvement, but three are for creating good habits and breaking bad ones, one is to assist you while getting over addiction and two cover affirmations. I hope you have gotten something good out of this series and maybe discovered something new that may help you in life. If there are any comments I would be glad to respond! Now, to the apps.

In part 2 I cover one of my favourite subjects, meditation apps. Meditation has been proven to help relieve anxiety and stress, and I’m personally a sucker for guided meditations. I have a hard time turning my brain off so listening to someone else guide me is so far the best option for me. I try to meditate at least once a day and I find that it really makes a difference for my well-being. Here I bring up 7 meditation and relaxation apps that might make a difference in your life!

This is part one in a small series on mental health apps that I have planned, with this one focusing on mood trackers. I feel like this is a very important subject to bring up since more people than ever before say they have problems with their mental health. A lot of it is blamed on social media and our constant need to stay connected, so maybe it’s luck(?) that there are so many good mental health apps out there. I use one myself; and in trying times I have used more than one at the same time. There are many apps out there for many different needs. I hope I have created a decent and varied list of alternatives in this area, just know that there are many more out there. If one of these does not fit your taste or demands, there most likely is one that does. Don’t be afraid to look. Your mental health is very important! Technology has revolutionized communication and relationships between people, the way we look at the world around us and, of course, it is changing the way we practice and consume sex. Today, virtual relationships, dating applications, pornography and 360º virtual sex are just one click away. The same click that makes the world more superficial and somewhat dehumanized.
Flirting apps such as Tinder or Happn, have changed the way you look for a partner or just meet people to have sex and enjoy a moment together. Millions of people are classified daily with ‘swipes’ or ‘crushes’ in a superficial context in which the images and profiles elaborated by the users prevail. This is the evolution of the classic marriage bureau to find a partner.

Unfortunately, the world isn’t a safe place all the time, for women especially. I’m not sure if I know any woman who has not, at one point in her life, been scared walking alone. I have been talking to friends walking home alone several times in my life, and I have called a friend while walking home myself. It gives a sense of security. If something happens someone will know, or maybe nothing will happen if you become a more difficult target.
There has been a minor explosion of safety apps in the recent years, and there definitely is a market for them. I have been looking around and hope I have constructed a decent list of possible options. It’s unsure if all of them will be available in your country, so it can be important to check that before you decide.

Nuria is a woman who has worked in the Computing Service of the Carlos III University of Madrid for 28 years. Since 1990, It has been a while! She has been going through all the groups of this service until four years ago she landed in the IT Security group: @CertUC3M where she plans to retire. 😀
We do not know what she eats for breakfast, but she has an inner balance and strength that I have seen in few people I know personally. She is special, and very brave, so I wanted she to be known in this blog. We have a lot to learn from her.
Nuria, by the way, what does a champion like you have for breakfast?
I have a bad breakfast. I have some juice to take my iron pill. As a sportswomen, I must have an additional contribution of this mineral and I have a single coffee without sugar too. I can not eat anything when I get up, then in a couple of hours I eat whatever.

As you can see on the official website of this project, FutureFunded is a crowfunding platform created by women and for women. The initial idea of its two founders is to help women to be trained in technology. In this way they give power to a disadvantaged group even in certain areas such as technology, where there are still more male faces than female faces.
In order to help women in fields such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics or STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics), Cecilia Tham (CEO) and co-founder with Laura Fernández, will allow the financing of projects collectively through of its FutureFunded platform, that is, by the so fashionable crowfunding.

Femtech is a term that includes all those technologies in the form of apps or gadgets that can help to improve the lives of women, as much in the level of fitness as in their birth, fertility, sexual life, etc. Quite a great industry conceived by and for women, innovating every day thinking about them.
